Dear Readers,
Now that July has begun, and my schedule has cleared, there are many things I am looking forward to doing this month. I already wrote a little about my goals for this month in one of my earlier posts called Routines & Goals for better Health, if youβre interested in reading, but those only listed my plans for staying healthy and productive this month, but I want to talk a little bit more about my visions for staying fulfilled creatively this month.
Since I will have limited social interactions in the next couple of months, (as many of my friends are busy) I will try to focus in mor on other areas of my life, to ensure I stay happy and fulfilled, while also preparing myself mentally and physically for the future. I hope this can be an inspiration to others out there who are struggling to find meaningful activities to fill their time with.
Activities I will fill my time with through next couple of months:
Lots of Reading:
I will fill the empty and lonely spaces in my life with literature pieces like the Holy Bible, lighthearted stories, and informative essays. While this will keep me from thinking of life's burdens, it will also help in improving my writing skills!
Creativity:
The next couple of months for me will likely be spent doing lots of creative hobbies like writing, whittling, sewing, & drawing. I once heard of something that said that you canβt be depressed while creating. I donβt know how true that is, but Iβve always found creating to be a fun and accomplishing experience.
Time with God:
Spending time with God every day and talking with him through all of my thoughts is the surest way to find peace and fulfillment in life. He is the creator, and through him, I could endure anything, even the painful season of waiting. While praying to God, it is easy to find that everything in life happens for a reason, and that what God puts us through we can get through. If it was too difficult for us to handle, he wouldnβt have given it to us.
Self-Care:
So soothing! :) I plan on doing much self-care in the next couple of months. What that means to me is taking time to care for my body, which ultimately cares for my mind by relieving stress. I really enjoy the following self-care activities:
Warm baths and showers: this automatically relieves overthinking and stress and gives me time to be present. Iβve also heard that hot baths burn just as many calories as a 30-minute walk, while also improving your quality of sleep and lowering cortisol!
Red Light Therapy: I usually spend about an hour a day doing Red Light Therapy (30 minutes in the morning & 30 before bed) which is said to help Circadian Rhythm, and the skin.
Face Massage: I try to spend about 5 minutes per day massaging my face (with moisturizer & ice) and doing face exercises to tighten skin which can help me to feel a bit more confident and accomplished
That is just a bit of the things I do for self-care in a day. You can find the rest in the post I earlier mentioned.
Studying:
I really enjoy spending my time learning & studying. I am currently really into learning about health & wellness, history, math, different cultures around the world, and writing. Learning is a great way to pass time, widen my knowledge, and plays a role in strengthening my mind. Itβs super fun!
Hiking:
I love being in nature and seeing new places. There are so many fascinating things you can find while exploring through forests like cool rocks, different species of mushrooms, and beautiful views.
Anyway, those are just a few of the ways I plan on spending my time in this season of waiting that the Lord has given to me so I can enjoy and grow in the ways I need to before the waiting season ends. It will likely go quicker than I could imagine so I will try to fill it with meaningful activities.
I hope to write again soon. In the meantime, I will be pondering new topics to write about.
Fairwell,
C. Selene
